In the tradition of the notoriously gritty 42nd Street theaters of the 1980s, and their wild and vocal audiences, Turbo Haüs brings you GRIND HAÜS! This monthly night of cinema will feature tremendously trashy trailers followed by the best and brightest of the B canon! Programmed and hosted by Justin Henry Langlois (Associate Programmer for the Fantasia Film Festival with an MA in Film from Concordia) and local heartthrob Alex Cartier (Turbo Haüs, Hashed Out). This month: Frank Henenlotter's FRANKENHOOKER (1990). When Jeffrey Franken’s (James Lorinz) fiancé Elizabeth (Patty Mullen) is killed in a freak remote control lawnmower accident, he fanatically searches for a way to bring his beloved back to life. Left with only her head, Franken turns to the streets of NY for the parts needed to rebuild her! Bill Murray said it best: "If you see one movie this year, it should be Frankenhooker." Don’t miss this hilariously brilliant reflection on the underbelly of 1980s New York in all its filthy glory!
